WestMeath Clinch Challenge match with Inters / Juniors

The second staging of the challenge match took place between the Dublin Inters / Juniors and their WestMeath counterparts in Rochfortbridge on Saturday. The weather was less than favourable for the players with torrential downpours threatening to put an early end to proceedings. The hosts lead by five shots in the Inters and lead by seven in the junior challenge and they really made home advantage count as they maintained their advantage throughout the singles to clinch wins in both grades . The Inter trophy was named in honour of the late David Donnelly from Erins Isle as David was one of the Dublin team in the inaugral challenge last August in Erins Isle. Both teams will take something from the challenge ahead of the Leinster Inter County in Athgarvan next Sunday. The Dublin Juniors are in action at 08:30 and the Inter team will tee off from 12:30.
