Junior takes his Senior’s Title!

Junior Smith (RGSC) brought the house down as he secured his first Dublin Scratch Cup which is named in honour of his father John, who was there to present the trophy in Ringcommon.

Things though did not look good earlier in the day as Junior could only muster a level par 54 first round. The second round though, he flew through the gears to a brilliant 43 which left him sitting 4 shots behind the leader Ian Farrelly of Bellewstown. Junior though was hitting form at the right time and skillfully finished out the playoff with a superb 47 and -18 total which would not be caught.

Ian Dillon fresh from a victory in Poulaphouca the day before flew through the field to finish 1 shot adrift on -17 for the runner-up spot just edging out DCB Chairman Anthony Malone on the final 18. David Campbell of Trim would take the final 18 prize with a fine 48.

The Intermediate Gents Prize was won by St.Bridgets stalwart John Delaney on 102.
The Junior Gents Prize was won by Lucan’s Christian O’Reilly with 111.
Geraldine Ward of Portmarnock struck another fine victory with 106.

A huge thank you to all who supported and especially Ringcommon for the top class course and hospitality
