Ladies League Finals

The ladies inter final took place in Erins Isle last Wednesday evening and proved a great struggle between 2 evenly matched teams. Ierne won the first 2 foursomes and looked set to take the 3rd match but a great effort from the Lucan pairing saw them win on the 6th tie hole.In the singles Lucan won the first singles to level the match and when Ierne won the 2nd singles it was all to play for.The games ebbed and flowed either way until on the closing holes Lucan’s ladies produced the winning shots to gain victory. It was a very sporting final and both teams gave it their all and Lucan were worthy winners over a gallant Ierne team. Our thanks to Erins Isle who had the course in excellent condition and all who took part well done. We moved on to Longmeadows Thursday evening for the junior final between a well fancied Lucan team and a confident Glenville team. The first 2 foursomes went to Glenville and Lucan 4up in the last game looked in control but a late birdie gave Glenville a 3 nil lead. The Lucan team were feeling the heat and although they got the first single Glenville were not to be denied . Thanks to the host club and well done to both teams.
