The senior persons league final took place last Friday in Shandon with Portmarnock proving worthy winners over Loughlinstown. The course was in great condition and we had some great games. The foursomes were very competitive and Portmarnock edged them 2 to 1. Both teams were making their debut in the final and were keen for victory. The early singles were dominated by a well prepared Portmarnock and try as they might Loughlinstown could not capture any of the first 3 singles. This left Portmarnock champions for the first time and worthy winners. The Loughlinstown team first entry into the leagues fell short of victory but no doubt will challenge again for honours.
Our thanks to all the teams who entered and also Shandon for the use of their facilities and course.
