Pitch & Putt Charity Challenge

The DCB Vice-Chairman John Ross Crangle is raising money for charity, Suicide or Survive, read JR’s story below.  Please give JR all the support and encouragement that you can.

My name is John-Ross Crangle, I aim to play a total of 18 rounds of pitch & putt (that’s 324 holes!) on July 11th 2020, with a 6am start and the final round beginning around 15hrs later at 9pm all to raise money for a local charity Suicide or Survive.

I will be playing 9 of these rounds Individually but 9 others will be played with one other person in a time slot that will be auctioned off. During all of the rounds including my 9 playing partners for every birdie we make, I will be adding €1 to the fundraising total and for every hole in one, if we are lucky enough, I will be adding €10 to the total too.

The pitch & putt All Ireland Strokeplay Finals which has been cancelled due the current ongoing Covid-19 pandemic were due to take place on this date so as the current champion, I thought why not do something positive and raise funds for a local charity!

Suicide or Survive (SOS) is a nationwide Irish charity focussed on breaking down the stigma associated with mental health issues and ensuring that those affected have access to quality recovery services that are right for the individual.

Any donation you make, regardless of the amount, is welcomed and valued by Suicide or Survive. All donations go directly towards supporting SOS in our mission to challenge the stigma attached to mental health and suicide and allow us to continue to deliver our much-needed workshops and programmes throughout Ireland.
