A message from DCB Chairman Paul McGreal

In the last month, our Sport and Lives have changed in a way that no one could have imagined. We should be out playing our great sport and meeting up with friends around the Country at Opens and Scratch Cups, instead we are restricted to our homes.

At the moment, the future might seem uncertain but when we get back to playing pitch and putt and we will, Dublin County Board encourage and appeal to all members to re-join their clubs, helping to make the most of season 2020.

To quote Dylan Thomas, “Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at the close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light”.

Do not surrender your 2020 season to Covid-19, when restrictions are lifted, be ready to play pitch and putt in your clubs and around the Country, making the most of season 2020!

We would appeal to all clubs to keep in contact with their members and updated on club developments. Alone we can do little, together we can do so much! Clubs should ensure to have all members registered asap so when the restrictions are lifted everyone is clear to play in Opens, Scratch Cups and enter Championships.

The DCB will do all it can, to fulfil our fixtures in 2020 and we will support our Dublin clubs with re-fixtures of Opens and Scratch Cups as best we can. Together we will make the most of this situation!

Above all, during this Covid-19 pandemic, take care of yourself, your family and your community. It is only by supporting each other that we will work through this and return to normality.

Thank you,

Paul McGreal
