A BUSY WEEKEND AHEAD

Its an action packed weekend for all grades this week as two more National Finals take place.
On Saturday we have the Ladies National Senior PJ & Catherine Bell Championships taking place in the beautiful terrain just over the border in Cloghogue. Dublin is well represented with 12 entries throughout the grades and have a lot of live chances throughout those grades and maybe a repeat of the 2015 Dublin clean sweep is possible!
On the Sunday the men take their chance in the same competition and with results in recent years favouring our men in a couple of the grades, it would once again be unsurprising to see some trophies travel back to the Capital.
Play begins on both days at 9.30am with shot gun starts. The 2nd session begins at 2pm.
On the opposite side of the age scale and country the U-16 Boys Matchplay takes place in St.Stephens in Co.Cork.
Last year’s competition in Clonee was a fantastic spectacle and this event should serve as another good showcase for the development of the underage game.
We wish all our representatives well.
Closer to home, the Lucan Open Week continues with play on Friday, Saturday & Sunday in their Scotch Foursomes so anybody in the area pop in and give the club some support. The finals of the National Mixed Foursomes take place here in 4 weeks time so no better opportunity to learn the Lucan course.
On Saturday in RGSC, Darren Thornberry will lead his Intermediate Squad into battle against their Westmeath counterparts as they take each other on in the annual Dave Donnelly Trophy. A great test before the challenges of Lough Owel next month.
Another competitions taking place this weekend is the Kildare Masters in St.Bridgets & Athgarvan on Saturday.
